The journal requests that scientific articles be unpublished and originalin Spanish and English.

Peer review process

Each of the articles received is submitted to a review and selection process. The Editorial Committee is in charge of the study and initial selection of the articles, which accepts or rejects them, taking into account criteria of originality and scientific quality, the concordance with the journal's own topics and the temporal validity of the results. In addition, the Editorial Committee may request modifications and make recommendations deemed necessary to adjust the document to the indications of the Journal. After this review, it will be submitted to double-blind evaluation by two external academic peers, who will issue a concept that can be: approved without changes, approved subject to minor changes and does not require further evaluation, approved subject to major changes and requires further evaluation, or rejected, i.e., it cannot be published in the Journal. In the event of controversies arising from the evaluators' concept, these will be initially resolved by the Editor or, if necessary, a second or third evaluation by academic peers will be requested.

The evaluation process requires the anonymity of both authors and evaluators. Likewise, the author of the article will be informed of this evaluation via e-mail, so that he/she can make the necessary adjustments requested by the evaluators. Upon receipt of the article with the corrections made, the Journal will verify compliance with the reviewers' suggestions and will analyze the justifications for those that have not been taken into account. Once this phase has been approved, the article will be sent again to the author, if necessary, to make the necessary adjustments. The process of review and acceptance of the material submitted may take an average of four months, and its receipt does not imply its automatic approval and publication.

Code of Ethics

1. Duties of the authors

Originality and plagiarism: All articles must be original work of the authors and not evidence plagiarism.

Acknowledgement of sources: If the authors have used the work and/or words of others, this has been cited or quoted appropriately.

Multiple, redundant or concurrent publication: Authors should not submit the same article to more than one journal at the same time.

Access and retention: If deemed appropriate by the Editor or members of the Editorial Board, authors of articles should also make available the sources or data on which the research is based, which may be retained for a reasonable period of time after publication and possibly accessible.

2. Editor's functions

Publication decisions: The Editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the Journal should be published. The publication decision should be guided by the policies of the Editorial Board of the Journal and should be based exclusively on academic merit and the decision of the reviewers.

Honesty: An editor should evaluate articles for their intellectual content without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnicity, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff should not disclose any information about a submitted article to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisors, as appropriate.

3. Duties of reviewers

Contribution to editorial decisions: Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions.

Promptness: Any selected referee who feels incompetent or knows that prompt review will be impossible should notify the Editor and excuse him/herself from the review process.

Confidentiality: Any article received for review should be treated as a confidential document. They should not be shown or discussed with others, except as authorized by the Editor.

Standards of objectivity: reviews should be conducted in an objective manner. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with arguments.

Acknowledgement of sources: reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any previously reported arguments should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also bring to the Editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published article of which he or she has personal knowledge.

Conflict of Interest

The Journal expects authors to declare any business associations that may involve a conflict of interest in connection with the submitted article.

By the nature of the articles that may eventually be published in the Journal, there may be conflict of interest conditions that may affect fairness in editorial conditions or against authors. Therefore, each author should make an effort to identify them.

In this sense, the authors should attach, together with the article and the declaration of commitment, a communication to the Journal indicating clearly and concisely if there are conflicts of interest, specifying each one. This communication should also specify the source of funding for the research, as well as the declaration of any commercial, economic or personal relationship that may affect the article or the editorial institution.

Duplication

For the duplication of texts, which is the ability to copy or reproduce in textual form one or more times a content or literary work in a new medium (digital or any other format), the Journal is based on the following general procedure: all editorial material, with respect to which a duplication has been requested or configured, must be headed by a legend that clearly identifies the quality of the duplication and establishes a difference with the original.

To perform this type of reproduction, the applicant must complete the internal duplication request form and mail it to the Journal (see format). The form must be filled out by the person responsible for the procedure, even if it is the Journal that determines the need for it.

Procedure against originality and plagiarism

For the purposes of this policy, originality should be considered from two perspectives: first, as the certainty that the work comes from the person who claims to be its author; and second, that it is new and different from other previously created works. The concept of plagiarism also refers to the fact that the work or article is distinguished from unauthorized copies, forgeries or branches, or the unauthorized or inappropriate use of fragments of another work.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of the articles provided to the Journal, as well as the veracity of the data and results included in them, stating clearly and concisely that the contents are original and have not been copied, fabricated, distorted or manipulated. .

Plagiarism or unauthorized use of other people's or third parties' contents, in all its forms, is totally rejected by the Journal. Likewise, multiple or redundant publications are considered a serious breach of ethics.

Authors shall refrain from submitting to the Journal, texts that have been sent simultaneously to another journal. It is possible to publish content to expand other published content or content under consideration, as long as the text on which it is based is duly cited.

Errata (erratum)

An erratum applies only to cases in which the journal has effectively made a mistake without the author's knowledge. The author has several cases where errors / mistakes can and should be corrected, such as the author's name, keywords, title and errors in the main text.

The journal sends the final proof of the revised and ready-for-publication article to the corresponding author with the deadline of one week for review and correction of the article. If the deadline for response expires without return from the authors, the journal considers the article approved (since the author has not discussed the need for changes/corrections) and therefore ready for publication.

Conflict of interest events against reviewers

It is up to the evaluators of the Journal to declare any conflict of interest that arises in relation to the work submitted for consideration.

The conflict of interest in relation to a work submitted for consideration by an evaluator or persons who are part of the editorial team arises when there is a direct personal or professional relationship with the author, dispute, or any kind of relationship with the research that gave rise to the article, as well as if there is a profound moral or ethical conflict with the subject under consideration. Generally, members of the editorial team and external reviewers must refrain from reviewing papers when any of these or other similar situations arise.

The Journal's editorial team will refrain from selecting reviewers who are known to be or may be affected by any of the aforementioned situations.
